Terms of service

Last updated

The short version: see your new site before you pay, pay only for what you choose, and keep your files and domain whatever happens.

1.Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and TZ Sites (“we”, “us”). They apply when you request a proposal, create an account, buy anything from us or use our hosting, dashboard or related tools (together, the “Service”). If you use the Service for a business, you confirm you can accept these terms on its behalf.

2.What we do

We design and build websites for small businesses, show you the new design in a proposal before you pay, and optionally host and maintain the site. Example projects shown on our marketing site are illustrative and are not client work unless we say so.

3.Proposals and the free revision

Requesting a proposal is free. A proposal shows your current site next to our new design on different devices. Each proposal includes one free revision with no payment and no card required.

A revision is one round of feedback: changes you send together in one request, which we apply and show you. Proposal links are private to you; anyone with the link can view it, so share it carefully.

4.Revision packs

After your free revision you can buy revision packs, starting at $5 for 5 revisions. Revision packs carry no commitment: you are not obliged to buy anything else. Unused revisions stay attached to your proposal.

5.Commitment fee

When you are ready to go ahead, you pay a one-time commitment fee, starting at $50. The commitment fee includes your first month of hosting (if we host your site) and 50 included revisions.

To commit, you create an account (with a verified email address) and pay through Stripe.

6.Hosting subscription

Hosting is an optional monthly subscription, starting at $20 per month. It is billed in advance and renews automatically each month until you cancel. Hosting includes serving your site, SSL and access to your dashboard for editing content.

You may instead take your website files and host the site yourself or with another provider.

7.Prices and payments

Prices on our website are example, “starting at” prices. Pricing varies per project; the price that applies to you is the one shown in your proposal or at checkout. Prices exclude taxes unless stated.

All payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; Stripe handles them under its own terms and security standards. Invoices and receipts are available from your account.

8.Your account and security

  • You must verify your email address before your account can be used.
  • Two-factor authentication is optional and we recommend turning it on.
  • Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account and should tell us promptly about any misuse.
  • API tokens (for example, for connecting Claude) act on your behalf. Revoke them if they may have been exposed.

9.Your content and your files

You keep ownership of the content you give us (text, photos, logos and other uploads) and give us permission to use it to build, host and maintain your site.

You can access and download your website files at any time from your dashboard or by asking us. Our general tools, templates and platform code that are not specific to your site remain ours, and you may use any parts included in your files to run your website.

10.Cancellation

You can cancel your hosting subscription at any time from your account or by emailing us. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid period: your service continues until the date your next renewal would have been, and you will not be charged again.

When you cancel, we give you all of your website files and transfer your domain to you (or to the registrar or provider you choose). See our refund and cancellation policy for details.

11.Domains

If we register or manage a domain for you, it is registered for your benefit. We will transfer it to you on request or when you cancel, provided any registration fees owed are paid. Domain registrars may have their own transfer rules and waiting periods.

12.Acceptable use

Don't use the Service for anything illegal, harmful, infringing or deceptive, to send spam, or to attack or overload our systems. We may suspend a site that puts our systems, other customers or the public at risk, and will tell you why where we can.

13.Third-party services

We rely on trusted providers, including Stripe (payments) and Cloudflare (content delivery, secure tunnelling, bot protection and email delivery). Optional integrations you choose to connect, such as Claude, are governed by their providers' terms.

14.Warranties and liability

We build and host with care but cannot promise the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free. To the extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is limited to the amounts you paid us in the three months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded.

15.Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in your dashboard before it takes effect. The “Last updated” date above shows when they last changed.
